Can We Truly Value Caregiving? Can I?
Can we do this in a way that reflects the real concerns of women even more authentically?
This is an excellent panel discussion by American mother-professionals who represented the Holy See at the UN, addressing the caregiving of children, the elderly, and those with special needs around the world and their overwhelmingly female caregivers. This is pro-life work. This is something all mothers think about or at least live, something I think about increasingly more as our precious Cate ages. Catherine Pakaluk (above), of #postcards for Macron social media fame, is one of the panelists. The photo is from her viral Twitter post.
Listen to these wise women here: https://catholicwomensforum.org/valuing-unpaid-work-and-caregiving/. I found it inspiring a couple weeks into summer as I struggle more than ever to balance even my PT work from home and care for our beloved brood.
